THE GLORIOUS LAST YEAR : ACHIEVEMENTS
1 : Dr AK Srivastava was invited as a committee member to revise the syllabus of Ranchi University Subject Botany (Hons.)-Twice in the month of February, 2012.
2 : Dr AK Srivastava and Fr PK Soreng attended and presented a poster on "Some common edible mushrooms of Jharkhand" in a National Seminaron Biodiversity at AB Garware College, Pune Feb 9-11, 2012.
3 : Dr AK Srivastava and Fr PK Soreng attended and presented a poster on "Spawn preparation of some common edible mushrooms of Jharkhand" in a National Seminar at VB University, Hazaribagh April 7-9, 2012.
4 : Dr AK Srivastava was referee to three articles in an Internationl(foreign) journal- Agricultural Research Journal edited by Dr Kenneth Williams of North Carolina University, USA.
    a. Destructive Leaf Rot Disease Caused by Fusarium oxysporum on Aloe barbadensis Miller in Bali.
    b. Effect of plant growth regulators on establishment and growth of strawberry(Fragaria x ananassa Duch.) var. chandler in vitro.
    c. Leaf rust (Puccinia triticina) resistance genes determination using race differentials and molecular markers in winter – facultative wheat (Triticum aestivum L.).
5 : Dept of Botany, with Dept of Zoology had organised an International conference on Environment- ICAIECS-12 in the college between Nov 2 and 4.
6 : Three research articles were presented in in the above seminar ICAIECS-12-
    a. Termitomyces cultivation -Dr AK Srivastava and Fr PK Soreng.
    b. Agroinfiltration in Arabidopsis thaliana - Dr AK Srivastava and Ms Preety Prasad.
    c. Protein-Protein interaction in Yeast 2 Hybrids - Dr AK Srivastava and Ms Preety Prasad.
7 : Dr AK Srivastava and Dr Madhulika Singh acted as chairpersons in two technical sessions in ICAIECS-12.
8 : Dr AK Srivastava and Ms Preety Prasad attended and presented a research paper in a national seminar organised by department of Geography, St. Xavier’s College, Ranchi- "Biodiversity Loss in the College Quadrangle" 24-25 Sept, 2012.
9 : Ms PreetiKumari, Dr AK Srivastava, Fr PK Sorengand Dr Madhulika Singh attended and presented a paper "Estimation of Phenolics in Vegetables of Jharkhand" in a national seminar -3NCZ12 organised by SS Memorial College, Ranchi, Dec-11-12, 2012.
10 : Dr AK Srivastava got to chair a technical session in the 3NCZ12.
11 : Dr AK Srivastava has delivered two lectures as a resource person to faculties in ASC Ranchi University.
    a. Interlinking Rivers- Saving Flood Waters 13 08 2012- Earth Sciences.
    b. Alternative Sources of energy- Focus on Biogas 21 01 2013- Environmental Sciences.
12 : Dr AK Srivastava conducted a practical examination as an external examiner in Ranchi College MSc Botany, Plant Physiology Special paper on 20 01 2013.
13 : The article- Protein-Protein interaction in Yeast 2 Hybrids by Dr AK Srivastava and Ms Preety Prasad was accepted for publication in the forth coming issue from LAP LAMBERT PUBLICATION, Germany in Feb, 2013.
14 : Dr AK Srivastava has been invited to play a visiting faculty’s role in BAU, Ranchi to teach Plant Physiology to students pursuing Agriculture course.
15 : Fr PK Soreng delivered his mid term seminar lecture in course of his Ph.D programme.
16 : Ms Preety Prasad delivered her pre registration seminar lecture in course of her Ph.D programme.

19 : DAAD Fellowship, a prestigious place in Germany, has been awarded to an alumni of Botany Department, Mr Arunabh Dutta to work on Himalayan Biodiversity.

23 : Prior to the closure of the classes, final semester students did put up a grand show of strength of knowledge through "EARTH DAY SEMINAR" held on 22nd April, 2013, the Earth Day this year.
